How the Health Risk Assessment works, how your risk band is calculated, and the evidence base behind the four-pillar programme.
The HRA is a validated questionnaire spanning five health domains, chosen to reflect the lifestyle, metabolic, and chronic-disease burden patterns most prevalent in urban India. It asks 26 questions, each scored on a 0–3 scale where 0 represents the healthiest response and 3 represents the highest-risk response.
The total score ranges from 0 to 78 points. No single domain is weighted above another — the assessment treats each as an equally important window into your health.
Each domain contributes to your overall risk score. Your report includes a separate band (Green / Amber / Red) for each domain, so you can see precisely where your risk is concentrated.
Physical activity frequency, meal regularity, processed food consumption, sugar habits, fruit and vegetable intake, and hydration. These factors together account for a large share of modifiable chronic-disease risk.
Bloating, bowel regularity, food sensitivities, known allergies, and reliance on digestive aids. Gut function is increasingly linked to metabolic, immune, and mental health outcomes.
Weight trajectory, blood sugar history (including pre-diabetes), blood pressure history, lipid (cholesterol) history, and family history of diabetes, heart disease, or stroke. South Asian populations carry elevated metabolic risk compared to global averages at the same BMI.
Perceived stress, emotional eating, sleep quality and duration, use of sleep aids, and cognitive fatigue. Chronic stress and poor sleep are independent risk factors for insulin resistance, hypertension, and weight gain.
Daytime energy levels, afternoon crashes, dependence on caffeine, mental clarity, and physical stamina. Energy patterns are a sensitive early indicator of metabolic dysfunction and mitochondrial stress.
Your BMI is calculated from your height and weight and assessed against South Asian-specific thresholds recommended by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and adopted by the World Health Organization's Asia-Pacific expert group. South Asians develop metabolic complications at lower BMI values than Caucasian populations — using standard Western thresholds would underestimate risk for this population.
| BMI Range | Category (South Asian) |
|---|---|
| < 18.5 | Underweight |
| 18.5 – 22.9 | Healthy weight |
| 23.0 – 27.4 | Overweight |
| 27.5 – 32.4 | Obesity Class I |
| ≥ 32.5 | Obesity Class II+ |
BMI is an input to your overall assessment context — it informs your coach's programme design but is not itself a scored domain in the 0–78 scale.
Each question in the HRA is scored 0–3. Your raw score in each domain is expressed as a percentage of that domain's maximum, and the same percentage thresholds are applied uniformly across all five domains and the overall score. This ensures that a "moderate" risk in Gut Health carries the same proportional meaning as a "moderate" risk in Metabolic & Cardiovascular.
| Band | Overall score (out of 78) | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Green | 0 – 20 points | Your current lifestyle habits are broadly protective. The programme focuses on optimisation, maintenance, and preventing future drift. |
| Amber | 21 – 30 points | Several modifiable risk factors are present. Correction now — before symptoms appear — is both achievable and clinically meaningful. |
| Red | 31 + points | Multiple high-risk signals across domains. An intensive, structured programme is warranted to interrupt the trajectory toward chronic disease. |
Every Healthness+ programme — regardless of band — addresses the same four pillars, calibrated to the intensity your risk profile requires.
| Pillar | What it addresses | How it's delivered |
|---|---|---|
| Food Strategy | Meal timing, macronutrient balance, food quality, anti-inflammatory eating patterns — tailored to your metabolic markers and cultural food preferences | Weekly personalised protocol from your coach; WhatsApp food-log review |
| Supplement Support | Evidence-based micronutrient and functional supplement guidance where dietary gaps or deficiencies are indicated (e.g. Vitamin D, Omega-3, Magnesium, B12) | Coach recommendation; reviewed monthly |
| Movement | Progressive activity prescription suited to your current fitness level, mobility, and lifestyle — from walking protocols to structured resistance training | Weekly guidance from your coach; check-ins via WhatsApp |
| Recovery & Stress | Sleep hygiene, stress management techniques (breathwork, circadian rhythm support), and recovery practices that reduce cortisol and inflammation | Embedded in weekly protocol; flagged when check-in data indicates poor recovery |
